And all whom theytold wondered at what they said. Then the shepherds returned to their flocksagain, praising God for what they had seen and heard. When the babe was eight days old, his parents called his name Jesus, as the angel had commanded; and they dedicated him to the Lord. For although he was the Son of God, yet he came on the earth to be like one of us, and to set us an example in all things, of what we ought to do. 218

He was a good man who fearedGod, and who was expecting Jesus to come into the world from what theprophets had written about him. And the Holy Spirit had promised Simeon thathe should not die until he had seen Jesus.
