• On a pear-shaped olive drab background 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in width and 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in length a scarlet flame of five rays superimposed by a gold sword in pale charged with a scarlet drop.

Symbolism

• The design was inspired by a statement of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Prime Minister Winston Churchill at the 1943 Casablanca Conference that the “enemy would bleed and burn in expiation of their crimes against humanity

1. The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally approved for the 63rd Infantry Division on 1943-03-27.
2. It was authorized for the 63rd U.S. Army Reserve Command on 1968-04-22.
3. It was reassigned and authorized effective 1996-04-18, for the U.S. Army 63rd Regional Support Command.
4. The insignia was redesignated effective 2003-07-16, for the U.S. Army 63rd Regional Readiness Command.
5. It was redesignated effective 2008-09-17, for the 63rd Regional Support Command and amended to add a symbolism.
